Description

Pahari Roots brings to you Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper Chilli – the hottest chilli in India and one of the hottest chillies in the world!

Package contents: Whole oven-dried Bhut Jolokia King chilies to preserve the aroma.

Source: Organically grown and sourced directly from the mountains of Nagaland in northeast India. No additives. No preservatives.

Taste: Intensely spicy, fruity, uniquely hot and aromatic – this King Ghost chilli pepper is sure to fire up your dishes!

Fun Facts: This incredible chilli pepper has a Scoville rating of over 1 million SHU and hence was awarded the Guinness World Record for the hottest chilli pepper in the world in 2007 and GI (geographical indication) status in 2008 too!

Use: Use a small amount to flavour curries, pickles, grilled foods, hot sauces and any other dish you want to spice up. Use this dried ghost pepper to make a spicy chilli oil and spice up any chilli lover’s menu. The Naga chilli releases its true heat when crushed, not when cooked whole.

Benefits: Bhut Jolokia also stimulate metabolism, helps sinuses, is rich in vitamins A and C, and lowers blood sugar.

Caution: It is advisable not to overdo it with the spiciness, even if you like spicy food and think you can tolerate it (unless you want to feel the spiciness even on the way out… a feat that should only be accomplished by professionals). Avoid eating too much of it, as it could upset your stomach and make you dizzy. To enjoy the spice without feeling unwell, use only a small amount of it.

Use gloves when you touch it and keep it out of the reach of children. Do not rub your eyes or touch sensitive parts of your body, as chilli burns badly. Wash your hands after handling it.

Storage: Shop in a cool and dry place or in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Recipe ideas: Raja Mirch Akhuni / Axone (traditional Nagaland Bhut Jolokia and fermented soybean chutney), Bhut Jolokia Curry.
