Lakadong turmeric takes its name from the Lakadong village in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. It is a Geographical Indication (GI) certified variety, meaning its origin and quality are officially protected. The deep orange-red colour, intense aroma, and extraordinary curcumin concentration set it apart from any other turmeric you have tried.
Unlike mass-produced turmeric that is often blended, adulterated, or grown with heavy pesticide use, Lakadong turmeric from Pahari Roots is single-origin, lab-tested, and traceable to the farm.
Curcumin is the active compound in turmeric responsible for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immune-supporting properties. The higher the curcumin content, the more potent and effective the turmeric.
For those using turmeric for golden milk, joint support, gut health, or daily immunity — curcumin percentage is the single most important factor. Lakadong is the highest curcumin turmeric available in India.
Add ½ tsp to warm milk with a pinch of black pepper. Sweeten with honey and drink before bed.
